The Mekong River Commission and its transboundary cooperation
1 Dr. Anoulak Kittikhoun is the Chief Strategy and Partnership Officer at the
Mekong River Commission. He was previously Team Leader of the Basin
Development Plan (BDP) Programme at the MRC. He received his bachelor
degree from the Australian National University and his Masters and Doctor of
Philosophy (PhD) from the City University of New York’s Graduate Center. A
Lao national, he is a former international staff member of the United Nations
Secretariat in New York.

in five case studies, namely: Tunisia (Oum Zessar Watershed), Mali (Inner Niger
Delta), Ethiopia (headwaters of the Blue Nile), Uganda (Rwenzori Mountains)
and South Africa (uThukela District).
